Everything Vegan at Pita Pit (2023)

Pita pit has really good vegan options. They have vegan Pitas, tons of vegetables they’ll grill/saute for you, falafel, and some other vegan things to choose from.

Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of better chain restaurants for vegans, such as Denny’s, but in terms of a Pita or Sandwich shop it’s probably one of, if not the most, vegan friendly one out there.

My only real complaint when it comes to Pita Pit is that I eat quite “big” of meals usually and their Pita-Sandwiches are more of a “normal” meal size, rather than quite large.

Vegan Pita Breads at Pita Pit:

  • White
  • Wheat
  • Gluten Free Wraps

Yeah, that’s right, even the Gluten-Free Wraps are Vegan, and Gluten-free stuff is almost never Vegan. Good on Pita Pit for not putting in some egg-whites just to terrorize us Vegans.

Vegan “Meat” Replacement Fillings at Pita Pit:

Not everywhere in the world will have the Spicy Black Bean Patty, but every location should have Falafel. Usually only North American locations have the black bean patty.

Vegan Vegetable Toppings at Pita Pit:

  • Banana Peppers
  • Carrots
  • Cilantro
  • Cucumbers
  • Green Peppers
  • Jalapenos
  • Shredded Lettuce
  • Mushrooms
  • Black Olives
  • Onions
  • Pickles
  • Pineapple
  • Roasted Red Peppers
  • Romain Lettuce
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Fresh Spinach
  • Tomatoes

Choose your toppings wisely, as I’ve made the mistake of getting nearly everything in a sandwich before, and that was VERY weird.

Vegan “Spreads” at Pita Pit:

  • Avocado
  • Hummus
  • Roasted Red Pepper Hummus
  • Spicy Hummus (Not all Locations)

Red Pepper Hummus is not always available outside of the North American locations, so if you’re traveling abroad or live in another country then don’t rely on it. They may have another vegan spread though, such as baba ganoush, which will be vegan if they have it. It’s just rare that they have it in most of their locations currently, so I didn’t list it above.

Vegan Sauces & Seasonings at Pita Pit:

  • Bayou Cajun Seasoning
  • Greek Seasoning
  • Majito Lime Seasoning (Yum!)
  • Smokehouse Maple Seasoning
  • Balsamic Vinaigrette
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Frank’s Buffalo Sauce
  • Hot Sauce
  • Spicy Vinaigrette (Sometimes called Secret Sauce)
  • Sriracha
  • Thai Satay Sauce
  • Yellow Mustard

Not all of the above sauces/seasoning will be available at every Pita Pit Location, although most should be. It’s just that maybe the locations in the Middle East won’t have something like BBQ sauce or Sriracha, but regardless of where in the world your Pita Pit is they should have the majority of the above, and they should always be vegan.

Are Any Pita Pit Soups, Cookies, or Smothies, Vegan?

  • Garden Vegetable Soup

Yeah, that one is vegan, but the rest aren’t. The smoothies contain dairy, as do the cookies, and the other soups contain animal products as well. Keep in mind that not every location has Soups, Cookies, or Smoothies, so don’t count on the Garden Vegetable Soup being at your local Pita pit.
