Pick Up Stix has plenty of good quality vegan options, including some appetizers, curries, rice-dishes, and of course Salads with vegan-friendly dressings.
Really I’d say Pick Up Stix is one of the most vegan-friendly “Asian-food” chain restaurants in the USA, I’d say that their main competitor Pei Wei is pretty good for vegans, however Pick Up Stix completely blows them away when it comes to vegan-friendliness. They’re both pretty good options for vegans when eating out though. You can easily get a tasty satisfying vegan meal at either of them.
Table of Contents
Vegan Appetizers at Pick Up Stix:
- Steamed Edamame
- Vegetable Spring Rolls
It’s quite rare to find vegan spring rolls out and about at non-vegan/vegetarian restaurants, so it’s really special that Pick Up Stix has them. Edamame is quite standard and always able to be ordered vegan pretty much anywhere, but hey, it’s another vegan-friendly option Pick Up Stix has.
Vegan Main Courses at Pick Up Stix:
- Firecracker Tofu
- House Tofu
- Orange Peel Tofu
- Sweet & Sour Tofu
- Teriyaki Tofu (Offmenu — Request one of the above swapped for Teriyaki sauce)
While some people have mistakenly ordered and claimed the vegetable chowmein and fried-rice are vegan, they’re not. Removing the eggs from them doesn’t make them vegan as by default they’re not even vegetarian according to what Pick Up Stix told us. They can’t really veganize those dishes apparently.
Vegan Side Dishes at Pick Up Stix:
- Steamed White Rice
- Steamed Brown Rice
- (1) Vegetable Spring Rolls
- Steamed Edamame
- Mandarin Oranges (Kids Menu)
That’s all the vegan side-dishes they offer, as unfortunately they don’t have a vegan-friendly chowmein, rice, or dumpling option at this time.
Vegan Soups & Salads at Pick Up Stix:
- House Special Salad with Tofu
That’s the only vegan salad option at Pick Up Stix, and as for the soups, none of the soups at Pick Up Stix are 100% Vegan currently. You can check out all the vegan dressings & sauces for the salad available below.
Vegan Sauces & Dressings at Pick Up Stix:
- Firecracker Sauce
- House Sauce
- Orange-Peel Sauce
- Sweet & Sour Sauce
- Teriyaki Sauce
- Chili Paste
- Potsticker Dipping Sauce
- Yellow Sweet & Sour Dipping Sauce
- Asian Vinaigrette Dressing
- Chili-Soy Vinaigrette Dressing
While there’s a few other nearly vegan dressings/sauces they fall short due to containing honey, but hey, the above is already quite a wide variety to choose from for a fast-food chain.
Vegan Desserts at Pick Up Stix:
There’s no “real desserts” available at Pick Up Stix for vegan folks, but they do have mandarin oranges you could request, but they aren’t always super tasty and sweet. Usually they’re pretty good though.
