On The Border has some great vegan options, and many locations even have their own Vegetarian/Vegan Menu which includes things like a Vegan Burrito and Fried Portabella Mushroom Tacos.
You can find Vegan items at most Mexican-food type places, but it’s quite rare to have a specific Vegetarian & Vegan Menu to choose items off of. Props to you On The Border, you’re keeping with the times!
So if you find yourself at On The Border don’t fret, you’ll be able to have a good meal there as a Vegan.
Here is their vegetarian menu.
Table of Contents
Vegan Starters & Entrees at On The Border:
- Veggie Quesadilla (no cheese, no sour cream)
- Avocado Fries (no creamy red chile sauce)
- Fajita Salad (sub for mushrooms, no cheese, pick vegan dressing)
- Sweet Potato & Corn Flautas
- Spicy Avocado Enchilada
- Vegetable Burrito (no cheese)
- House Salad (no cheese)

To be very clear, not all locations will have all of the above options, and a few may not have any of these listed on the menu, as not all have a specific vegan menu. Some just have a Vegetarian Menu.
Anything off the Vegetarian menu should be able to be made Vegan if you specify you do not eat dairy and don’t want Sour Cream, Queso, Cheese, croutons (for salads), or any non-vegan sauces (check below for the vegan sauces). At most On The Borders they’ll substitute Portabello mushrooms for meats and Guacamole for Cheese, so you can really veganize almost anything on their menu.g
