Everything Vegan at Qdoba
Qdoba is a restaurant like Chipotle, Uberrito, or Freebirds, and has that same assembly-line style burrito making magic. I love these places, and while my favorite is Freebirds they’re all absolutely wonderful and have tons of vegan options!
I must admit I’m naughty and eat at these places way too much, they just have so much variety and they’re not really that expensive for what you get.
Not only is it pretty cheap, at least for eating out, but Qdoba gives vegans/vegetarians a discount. Having the vegan entree instead of the non-vegan ones saves you about 10% off your order at Qdoba!
So what are my options?
You can get basically all the standards that you’d get at the other places, all the basic things that make up a burrito.
Their unique thing in my opinion is that they have a tortilla soup thing that’s Vegan and a “taco salad” that really changes up your meal. At Qdoba I always get one of those rather than the burrito, although I usually get a taco tortilla or a burrito tortilla on the side to make my own mini-burrito to go with it.
All of their tortillas are Vegan, the whole wheat, the regular, the corn, the taco ones, all of them!
- Crunchy Tortilla shell or bowl
- Whole Wheat Tortilla
- Corn Tortilla
- Flour Tortilla
- Corn Tortilla Chips
- Crispy Corn Taco Shell
Aaand all of their beans/rice are vegan as well, currently they have:
- Brown Rice
- Cilantro Lime rice
- Black Beans
- Pinto Beans
Unfortunately they don’t have refried beans 😢
Other Yummy things
Don’t forget to get these tasty things as well, they make a burrito go from good to WOW!
- Fajita Vegetables
- Seasoned Potatoes
They have a real salad too, but I’m talking about burrito addins here~
- Guacamole (it’s free!)
- Tortilla chips
- Fajita Peppers
- Pickled Jalapenos
- Shredded Lettuce
Not all of their sauces are Vegan, but all the good ones (duh) are, and that’s most of them!
- Black Bean Corn Salsa
- Salsa Roja
- Roasted Chile Corn Salsa
- Pico de Gallo
- Red Chile Sauce
- Fiery Habanero Sauce
They also have a few seasonal sauces/Salsas such as Cilantro lime sauce and Mango Salsa, so they’ll likely have one of them at your location.
So how does Qdoba look for a vegan?
Dang near perfect!
Qdoba isn’t an all vegan restaurant, but that’s about the only complaint I can make up. They have oodles of options and ways to mix-up your meal.
If you want an extra-big meal like most places like Qdoba (such as freebirds or chipotle) you can ask for all of the things for free, as in both beans and both rices if you want. In fact, like I do, you can ask for extra on top of that if you really want to.
Uniquely though, at Qdoba I’ve heard they technically will give unlimited guacamole too, for free, but I haven’t tried that. But it’s always free (unlike at Chipotles/freebirds) to have a little at least like I get, so if you like Guac make sure to get it!
